On the auspicious occasion of the 4th day of the 4th lunar month, we joyously celebrate the Sacred Birthday of Manjushri Bodhisattva, the embodiment of supreme wisdom and the revered Prince of Dharma.

☸ As one of the Four Great Bodhisattvas of Chinese Buddhism, Manjushri stands as a pillar of enlightenment alongside Shakyamuni Buddha and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, forming the noble Three Sages of Avatamsaka.

🌸 Embodying the essence of Prajna, Manjushri Bodhisattva is depicted in sacred iconography as riding a majestic green lion and wielding a sword of wisdom or a jade sceptre of auspiciousness. His presence inspires courage and the discernment of profound truths, guiding us on the path to spiritual awakening.

🏮 In honour of Manjushri Bodhisattva’s wisdom, we partake in the *Nine-Lamp Light Offering*, illuminating the path for all sentient beings. Each lamp serves as a prayer for the Dharma’s eternal presence and a beacon to dispel the shadows of ignorance, enhancing blessings and wisdom for all.

cultivating the dragon seed over a long period to become the Dharma King.

Take pity on the sentient beings who are lost in their nature,

As the embodiment of the seven Buddhas, his nature is unfathomable,

Serving as the mother of all Bodhisattvas in myriad ways.

Residing in the tranquil light, he responds to the call of all beings,

Like the moon’s reflection in every stream, universally manifesting his presence.

📿 The sacred chant of the Five-Syllable Manjushri Mantra purifies the soul, eliminates karmic debts, and leads us to the pinnacle of wisdom. Through its recitation, we transcend worldly sufferings and progress towards the ultimate enlightenment of Buddhahood.

🙏 May the wisdom of Manjushri Bodhisattva permeate every being, dispelling the veils of ignorance and illuminating the true essence of the Dharma.
