People have come to me and asked if their deceased parents or miscarried children have reincarnated? I find it difficult to tell the truth, but in the end I said they have not yet reincarnated.

And many find it unbelievable that having participated in 5 pujas, they still can’t liberate even one infant spirit. When they attended the puja organized by external party, they were told the spirit had left. But when they came to me for validation, they realized to their disappointment that it was not the case.

I asked a puja participant: “ What did you do?”The answer was: “I’d spent $50 to help liberate the infant spirit and for a total of five times.” I said: “You are too stingy. For someone like you who runs a business, each time you just spent $50, S$50, S$50. You may have to do a hundred times, then it will stop resenting you.” Why? If the infant spirit was still alive, it should be inheriting his entire fortune.

I asked: “Why don’t you spend more? Instead of spending only $50 or $100 on the yellow tablets, you should become the Great Merit Sponsor with a thousand or thousands of dollars, and leave the centre to organise everything since their mission is to benefit all sentient beings. For your miscarried child, by accumulating vast amount of merits, which is much more valuable than your present physical possession. This way, you will truly help to liberate sentient beings.”

Instead of spending $50 here or $100 there, why not become a prime sponsor?What is it to be a Great Merit Sponsor? That is if in your mind you have a certain number of sentient beings to liberate, you should go above and beyond this number. You should think about all the parents and ancestors from your past indefinite lives. Why do you limit yourself to help only those from this lifetime? I need to point out this problem to staff members that is you tend to tell puja participants to tick one or two options on the form. Rather, ask them their financial situation. If the participant is wealthy, propose the option to become a prime sponsor. You should first ask about their financial situation, and if they still insist on the individual item, then let them be.

It is not about money; it is about helping everyone fulfil their wishes. It is about absolving the resentment karmic creditors have against our clients; it is about reconciliation between both parties.

It is not about me (or my organization) having received $50, and guaranteeing I can send the karmic creditors off. I have never promised that and I don’t dare to. Why? I only provide a platform i.e. the service of creating a time space for spiritual liberation. And I can’t promise to successfully liberate the miscarried children with the $50.

I am not that capable.You should align your intention to this i.e. create a sea of merits, not a sea of blessings. Taking care of your family, relatives, and the deceased.

A Great Merit Sponsor goes beyond this responsibility. Otherwise, you are just being a blessing sponsor in that you are simply delivering blessings to your family members. Therefore, everyone needs to understand emptiness. Emptiness or Threefold Wheel of Essential Emptiness is needed when making contributions in a puja. I have $100, I simply give it away for spiritual work. In doing so, you become the Great Merit Sponsor of $100.

You don’t need to give $1000 to become a Great Merit Sponsor. Rather, you limit your resources for a specific purpose, you are only creating blessings. Instead, you should think and do the opposite. Broaden your perspectives, break away from your inner demon and not be too self-beneficial. Start building your sea of merits by reassessing your motivations.

You do all things (including making contributions in puja events) in emptiness. This will drastically alter your energy field and bring you amazing results. It is time to break away from the concept of physical self, mental self and self-obsession.
